Terms of Service

By purchasing, downloading, or using Critiq ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

1. License Grant

Upon purchase of a valid license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use Critiq on devices you own or control. A single license permits installation on multiple devices owned by the licensee.

2. Acceptable Use

You may:

• Install and use Critiq on devices you personally own or control
• Receive all future updates and improvements to the Software at no additional cost
• Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes

You may not:

• Distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or lend the Software to third parties
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels on the Software
• Share your license key publicly or with unauthorized users
• Use the Software in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

3. Payment and Refunds

Critiq is offered as a one-time purchase with lifetime access. All payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. Refund requests may be made within 30 days of purchase by contacting hello@getcritiq.dev. Refunds are granted at our sole discretion.

4. Updates and Support

Your lifetime license includes access to all future updates and improvements to the desktop application at no additional cost. While we strive to provide timely support, we do not guarantee specific response times or support availability.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT ITS OPERATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

6. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE.

7. Data and Privacy

Critiq operates entirely locally on your machine. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your code, git repositories, or usage data. License validation is handled through Lemon Squeezy. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

8. Termination

These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer in your country of residence. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall be resolved in the courts located in Denmark.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
